Week 37

With the sun now setting later we have been getting some awesome sun sets on the way home - with two of my pictures this week being the sun setting.  I am starting to wonder just how many photo's I have of the trip home - surely by the end of the year I could put them together and document my daily trip home - as well as pretty much every flower and tree in the garden at home...

Week 36

Week 36 already, how quick is this year going!

Another week where I had a mix of considered shots and just random "got to get a photo of something today" when I ran out of time.  The photo I absolutely love this week is the 5th of September.  We were driving home from work and the sun was low in the sky and then as we drove past Victoria Park it started raining.  It looked so amazing that I took a photo out the window of the car as we drove past.  When we stopped in traffic a bit further down the road I jumped out of the car and took a few more but I still loved the one taken while driving past (disclaimer here - I was a passenger) the best.  Goes to show you have to have your camera ready at all times and take those moments when they arise...

Week 34

I suffered from a lack of time this week again with two of my photo's taken out the window of the car on the way home from work (including one of my favourites of the week from the 21st of August) and another taken in the car park on the way home from work.

 

Despite the lack of time and one and a bit jobs at work I am feeling really enthused about taking photo's at the moment - let's hope it lasts next week!!

Week 33

Canon are running a competition at the moment and have an open brief to take a photo that embodies "wind".  I decided if nothing else it provided a good theme for the week (well, 2 photos of the week).  It was also great fun when me and Miss B (who only agreed if I paid her model fees) headed up to North Head with our net curtains!  I would seriously recommend that to anyone on a windy day - it was awesome fun!

Week 32

Well it's finally happened - my first day without a photo!  It wasn't even so much that I ran out of time, just that I was so busy that I actually forgot to take a photo.  Luckily my 3 year old unwittingly subbed in for me that day and of the 210 photo's that she took on my camera in the back seat of the car on the way home from work on Wednesday one was actually really cute and looks like a little heart so I am using that one for that day.

The good think about missing a day however is that it has made me a lot more focused for the rest of the week and determined that no matter how busy I get with this new role at work that I take a bit of time out for photo's - to stop and really look at the amazing things around me and have a bit of time doing something I love.

Week 31

Lots on at work this week chalking up 50+ hours so photography has had to take a back seat.  With work set to amp up even more over the next few months it is going to be increasingly hard to find the time to take photo's - I guess that is why they call it a challenge!

I watched a really good tutorial (courtesy of Canon) about how to create splashes to photograph and became moderately obsessed with that.  It really is a lot harder than it looks but was fun setting everything up and will have another go later now I know what to do.  In the hunt for a good splash photo I also wasted a lot of red wine on the 30th of July, but I did get to finish up that prop which was a bonus!!
